Speed Card Game
The fastest card game there is: no turns, no waiting. Race the computer to get rid of all your cards by playing one rank up or down on the two center piles.

How to play Speed
Each player gets a hand of 5 cards and a draw pile of 15. Two cards are turned face up in the middle, with a small spare pile next to each one. There are no turns: both of you play at the same time, as fast as you can.
You can play any card that is exactly one rank higher or lower than the top card of either center pile, whatever the suit. Ranks wrap around, so a King goes on an Ace and an Ace goes on a King or a 2. Every time you play, your hand is topped back up to 5 from your draw pile.
When neither player can move, a new card from each spare pile is flipped onto the center piles and the race starts again. The first player to get rid of every card in their hand and draw pile wins. Tap a card to play it (if it fits both piles, tap the pile you want), or use keys 1–5 and the arrow keys.
Frequently asked questions
Are Speed and Spit the same game?
They’re close cousins. Speed uses a 5-card hand and a draw pile, while Spit lays your cards out in five stockpiles and ends each round with a race to slap the smaller pile. Both are real-time games where you play one rank up or down.
Can an Ace go on a King in Speed?
Yes. In the most common rules, ranks wrap around: an Ace can go on a King or a 2, and a King can go on a Queen or an Ace. That’s the rule used here.
What happens when nobody can play?
It’s a stalemate: one card from each spare pile is flipped onto the center piles. If the spare piles run out, the center piles (except their top cards) are shuffled to make new spare piles.
