Sokoban Online
The classic box-pushing puzzle: move every yellow box onto the red targets. There are 64 original levels, all with a guaranteed solution.
How to play Sokoban
You control the orange little worker and must place each box on top of a red target. When a box reaches its target, it turns green; the level ends when all of them are green.
The rule is simple but tricky: you can only push, never pull, and only one box at a time. A box pushed into a corner can never leave it, so think before you push.
Move with the arrow keys or W, A, S, D, swipe on the board or use the on-screen arrows. Tapping an empty square walks the worker there. Made a mistake? “Undo” (or the Z key) takes back one move and “Restart” (R key) resets the level.
Frequently asked questions
Do all the levels have a solution?
Yes. The 64 levels were created for this site and each one was checked by a solver program, which found the way to the end. If you get stuck, just undo a few moves and try a different order.
What does Sokoban mean?
Sokoban means “warehouse keeper” in Japanese. The game appeared in Japan in the early 1980s and became one of the best-known logic puzzles in the world.
What is the best strategy?
Avoid pushing boxes into corners or against a wall without a target, because they cannot come back from there. Start with the boxes that block the way and leave the deepest targets for last.
