ABC games: learn the vowels
ABC games for kids to learn the vowels a, e, i, o, u: find the right letters, spot the first letter of each picture and sort the words.
Tap every vowel before the time runs out.
How to play
Pick one of the three games. In Find the vowels, tap every vowel you see before the time runs out. In First letter, look at the picture, read the word and choose the vowel it starts with.
In Sort the words, tap a word and then the right basket: the vowel basket or the consonant basket, depending on its first letter. A wrong basket is no problem, just try the other one.
Start on Easy, with fewer letters and more time. Medium and Hard show more letters and less time. At the end you get your stars and how many you got right.
Frequently asked questions
What age can a child start playing?
It usually works well from 4 or 5 years old, when children start to recognise letters. Younger kids can play too, with a grown-up reading the words out loud.
Do these games really teach the vowels?
They help children spot vowels on their own, at the start of words and in pictures. Playing again over several weeks helps the letters stick.
Are there ads, sign-ups or data collection?
No. There are no ads, no account and nothing about your child is stored. The best score stays in the browser, and the sound can be switched off with its button.
