Minesweeper Online
Classic Minesweeper right in your browser: open cells, flag the mines and clear the board as fast as you can. Your first click is always safe.
Right-click or long press: flag · click a number with the right flags: opens its neighbors · keyboard: arrows, Enter and F.
How to play Minesweeper
The goal is to open every cell that doesn’t hide a mine. Each number tells you how many mines are in the 8 cells around it; an empty cell automatically opens all its neighbors. Your first click never hits a mine and always opens up an area.
When you’re sure where a mine is, mark it with a flag: right-click on a computer or press and hold the cell on your phone. If you’d rather tap, turn on “Flag mode” and every tap places or removes a flag. The counter on the left shows how many mines are still left to flag.
To save time, click a number that already has all its flags around it: the rest of its neighbors open at once (the famous “chord”). Choose Beginner (9×9, 10 mines), Intermediate (16×16, 40 mines), Expert (30×16, 99 mines) or build a custom board. The yellow smiley starts a new game.
Frequently asked questions
Can Minesweeper always be solved without guessing?
Not always. In most games you can get through on logic alone, but sometimes you’re left with two cells that are equally likely to hide a mine and you have to take a chance. That’s part of the classic game, including the Windows version.
How do I place a flag in Minesweeper on my phone?
Press and hold the cell for a moment until the flag shows up, or turn on the “Flag mode” button so every tap places a flag. With flag mode on, pressing and holding opens the cell instead.
What’s a good Minesweeper time?
On Beginner, finishing in under 30 seconds is great. On Expert, experienced players clear the board in under 2 minutes. Your best time for each level is saved in this browser.
