How to play free geoguessr
Each round picks a country, but you do not see its name, only the continent. If you want, tap “Show the capital”: that round is then worth 20% less.
Tap or click the map where you think the country is. The closer you are to the right country, the more points you get, up to 5,000 per round.
After your guess, the right country turns green, the distance appears and you see the points for that round. After 5 rounds, see your total; your best score is saved in this browser.

Is this the GeoGuessr game?
No. This is an independent game made to play in the browser. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by GeoGuessr.
How are the points calculated?
Each guess is worth up to 5,000 points, using the formula 5,000 × e^(−km ÷ 2,000), rounded. A perfect click gives 5,000; at 2,000 km you get about 1,840 points, and at 4,000 km about 680. Using the capital clue cuts that round by 20%.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes. The map fits the screen and works with touch. It is simplified, so very small countries are left out of the rounds.
