Fraction games
Learn fractions by looking at pictures: spot the shaded part, compare two fractions and find the ones that are equal.
How to play the fraction games
Pick a mode. In Identify, a picture is split into equal parts and some are shaded. Tap the fraction that shows the shaded part. In Compare, two bars appear and you pick the bigger fraction, or tap "They are equal" if they are the same.
Pick a level. Easy uses halves and quarters. Medium uses thirds, fifths and sixths. Hard uses eighths and tenths, and sometimes you need to find the fraction that is equal, like 2/4 and 1/2.
Each round has 10 questions. Every right answer earns a star, and at the end you see how many you got right. Got one wrong? No problem: the right answer is shown and the next question comes straight after.
Frequently asked questions
What age can children start playing?
The easy level, with halves and quarters, usually works from about 6 years old, when children start splitting things in half. Medium and hard are for children who already understand simple fractions and want more practice.
Is it safe for children?
Yes. There are no ads, no links to other websites, no purchases, no sign-up and no data collection. Your child just taps the answers on the screen.
Can I turn the sound off?
Yes. A sound button in the game switches the sound effects on and off. Your choice is saved in the browser, so you will not need to turn it off again next time.
