How to play Brick Breaker
Move the paddle so the ball doesn’t fall, and hit every colored brick to clear the level. Green breaks with 1 hit, yellow with 2, orange with 3 and purple with 4. Gray steel bricks don’t break: use them to bounce the ball around.
You control the angle: the ball goes straight when it hits the middle of the paddle and at a steeper angle the closer it hits the tip. At the start of each life the ball waits on top of the paddle, sliding from side to side — launch it at the right moment to choose the direction. On the computer, use the mouse or the arrow keys and Space to launch; on the phone, drag your finger and tap quickly to launch.
Some bricks drop capsules when broken: blue widens the paddle, purple splits the ball into several, green slows the ball down, red turns on a laser that fires on its own and orange gives an extra life. After the 10 designed levels, the game creates new levels, each one tougher than the last.
Frequently asked questions
How do I reach the hard bricks in the corners?
Hit the ball with the tip of the paddle so it leaves at a steep angle and bounces off the side walls. The steel bricks also help you deflect the ball into hard-to-reach places.
Does the ball get faster?
Yes. Each level starts a little faster and the ball speeds up gradually with every hit. The green capsule slows the ball for 10 seconds when things get intense.
